Packet Sniffing
Distinct Network Monitor is a packet-sniffing and network protocol analyzer software tool that translates complex protocol negotiation into natural language, pinpointing where errors occurred. Easier to use than competing products, it translates the IP packet negotiation into natural language, something no other network protocol analyzer does.
The essential difference between a plain packet sniffing product and Distinct Network Monitor is that the Distinct Network Monitor interprets the packets in simple English. For any specific TCP connection it is able to pinpoint any errors it sees by marking these with a black X. Some packets are marked with a white X to denote a warning of packet retransmission and other non-fatal network errors.
Network Monitor was developed for network administrators and software development professionals who need to quickly detect network errors rather than wade through pages of incomprehensible network traffic.
