The ReportBuilder that comes with Distinct Network Monitor can be instrumental in helping to identify security breaches. As one of the tools in your box it can assist you in ensuring that your corporate security policies related to network usage are implemented. For example, if your corporate policies do not allow the download of certain file types, you can run reports on these file types to find out if the statistical data sampled contains any of these.
Many different reports can be run to check that network traffic is in line with company policies. FTP reports can be run to ensure that there were no PUT operations onto external servers for file types that are for internal use only.
